Keeping it Real
i often speak about being real. My reality and what other see as reality may not be the same. My reality is based on the goodness of God. Not on the goodness of myself. It is not that i don’t desire to change because i do. i want the complete and total renewing of my mind according to Gods word. i desire to be more like Jesus. Yet i realize this is not something that can be an act, i am not a good actress.
i study
i search
i seek the Lord
Not because i am good
But because God is good
i cry
i pray
i humble myself
Not because i am good
But because God is good
Did you notice all of the “i”s being small
That is because it is not about this i….
It is about the GREAT I AM
i would like to invited you to come and fellowship with us at the Duncan Rescue Mission at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Not because we are good but because God is good and worthy to be praised.

Mt 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
Today I come to you speaking about the act of consistency and why it is important to our witness.
Too often Christians change their mind and many times this is under the direction of the Holy Spirit, but we do not share his information with the others, who we have spoken with and this damages our witness. So when we speak again, the words we share no longer hold the impact they once may have, because of a lack of consistency. It may be a simply oversight or it could be an issue of spiritual pride that’s keeps of from sharing why we changed our mind, it doesn’t really matter what the reasoning was the impact is the same. The trust of our words has been broken and the hearer no longer trusts what we may say. Trust is not built over night with another but it can be destroyed over night by a simple lack of communication.
This subject can become very complex as we walk with the Lord. So often when we say yes, we later find out our yes was too quick to come and we did not wait on the Lord for an answer.
At this moment we are presenting with a few options:
One is to simply change our mind and do what we feel the Lord desires. This looks good but to those who we gave our yes or no to, it is inconsistency.
Two is to ignore the voice of the Lord and continue with our original choice. This is dangerous as you may please man but grieve the Holy Spirit.
Three is to do as the Lord instruct and to let others know whom you have spoken to, what the Lord has shown you and how you spoke to quickly. This takes great humility, but in the end, you do as the Lord desires and you do not damage your witness.
In scripture it is clear through our testimony of the Lord in our lives many learn of the abounding grace and power of the Lord. But if we damage our witness by lack of communication or lack of consistency the words we share no longer hold the impact they once may have had. This is one of the reasons many do not trust Christians. The Lord may have done a mighty work in your life… He could have healed you from a serious disease or freed ou from a powerful stronghold… but if you lack consistency people may hear you with their ears but their hearts willl not trust your witness. We will be held accountable for our lack of consistency.
If I build my platform on lies and deceit
And others follow me in unquestioned belief.
Then I have put a snare at the foot of my fellow man
And their blood is now required at my hand.
Father forgive us for we know not what we do,
When our fondness for mankind exceeds our love of you.
Help us to walk with you Lord in honesty and truth,
For it is with you My King that our minds will be renewed.
Have mercy on us Lord,
Give us the words to say.
For it is you alone Oh Lord,
Who has prepared the way.
It breaks my heart Lord,
That so many are falling away.
Help us to shine your light,
In the darkness of this day.
Earth quacking
Faith shacking
Breath taking pain
Hidden tears
That only you see
Prayers uttered
On bended knee
Take me
Make me
What I shall be
I ask if possible
Take this cup from me
Yet Father God
Let your will be
I am yours
